THE FRONT BOOT
DELUXE DEVELOPS XP-TECH
Deluxe Caravans has employed a new construction method for its caravans dubbed‘ XP-TECH’.
According to Deluxe, XP-TECH construction offers manufacturing solutions not available to vans built from meranti timber or aluminium.
XP-TECH panels are“ advanced sandwich-structured composites, combining a fibreglass-reinforced plastic surface with an XPS foam core. Unlike aluminium panels, they resist dents due to their high surface strength and flexibility. Unlike wooden boards, they are moisture-resistant, preventing internal cavity rot”.
XPS( extruded polystyrene) is produced using polystyrene resin combined with auxiliary materials and polymers. Ultimately, it forms a rigid foam plastic board with a flat, uniform surface and closed-cell interior. It’ s main benefits: low water absorbtion, high compression resistance, low thermal conductivity and excellent durability.
For the foreseeable future, Deluxe Caravans will continue to offer its range of vans with both meranti and aluminium framing materials, but is ramping up production on vans built with XP-TECH, aiming to eventually move entirely to this construction method.
Prices for Deluxe vans built with XP- TECH panels start from $ 132,900.
