QUILPIE SET TO TEE OFF
The Quilpie Open Golf Weekend is about to swing into action, with registrations for this outback Queensland golf competition now open.
The Golf Weekend will be held on the weekend of August 16 and 17 on the unique red-dirt fairways of the iconic Quilpie Golf Club.
After devastating floods swept through the region, the event is more than just a sporting weekend – it’ s a call to arms for golfers and travellers alike to support a community as they welcome tourists back for the peak winter season.
“ Our registrations have only just opened and we’ re overwhelmed with the response. More locals are signing up but it’ s so important for tourists to come back and support us. Businesses and graziers in our region have been severely affected by floods so we really need tourist support,” Quilpie Golf Club Bruce Paulsen president said.
The event will deliver serious competition for keen players, and plenty of fun for newcomers,‘ social hackers’ and anyone chasing an experience in the heart of the outback.
