CRUISING THROUGH THE CRUNCH

Caravanning is cruising ahead as a favourite holiday pick, recent research shows, despite the everrising cost of living.
The Caravan Industry Association of Australia’ s 2025 Consumer Sentiment Report revealed a remarkable 88 per cent of respondents were still planning to caravan or camp in the next year.
The report also found that Aussies were embracing the value of caravan and camping holidays, with 77 per cent saying they offered better value than other types of holidays, with 76 per cent rating them as great value for money, and 50 per cent believing domestic travel delivered better value than heading overseas.
Crusader Caravans founder and CEO Serge Valentino said travellers were increasingly turning to caravan and camping getaways for their value, combining affordability with the freedom to explore at their own pace.
“ We’ re seeing a clear shift towards people wanting to buy vans for shorter, more frequent trips rather than long holidays. With the recent release of our new MY25 models, we’ re seeing a surge in demand that’ s reminiscent of the unprecedented levels experienced during the covid pandemic,” Serge said.
“ Australians are certainly feeling the pinch as economic pressures intensify, and cost-of-living challenges affect holidays. Yet the travel sector remains resilient.”
