FREEDOM CAMP OF THE MONTH
A PERFECT POOL

Another free and waterside camp we’ d love to share with you is tucked away off a dry and dusty road, between long highway stretches of nothing. So what a thrill it was to arrive here for our picnic lunch!
There are no facilities but there’ s shade and views! Bonus: it is petfriendly.
We chatted to our friendly neighbours and they had spotted swans, spoonbills, finches and even said there were no mozzies!
This beautiful spot is a‘ red tick’ site in our guides. This means it is especially good! No wonder Camps app reviews for this site average at 4.5 stars and generally describe it as“ heavenly”.
In fact, we also added it to our‘ 10 Fave Free Camps in Western Australia!’ article( see link below).
We would have loved to stay the night and take in the birdlife, maybe even a swim. Hopefully you can do that for us, but note that the waterholes here may be dry depending on the season.
We instead caught up with our family 182km further at Kumarina Roadhouse. This is a great option if you are in need of accommodation … and you don’ t want to cook. Our counter dinners were hearty and generous, especially after a few card games and beverages on the verandah. Another excellent stop with cabins is south at Karalundi Caravan & Camping Park.
