RV REVIEW
I liked the rear bar too, with its large aluminium firewood box( the spare wheel has been offset to the nearside to make room). Both sides of the rear bar have access points to the storage space within, and there’ s yet another access hatch across the main face. This would be a great place to store your fishing rods.
While it has a DO35 coupling and independent trailing arm coil suspension( rated to 3.5 tonnes), I don’ t view this van as a hard-core off-roader designed to tackle anything your 4WD can. Rather, it’ s built and equipped for highway touring as well as dirt tracks and gravel, of the sort you might find in national parks. It’ s not intended to tackle Gunshot, for example. But I do think that it’ s wellequipped for its purpose.
Eagle-eyed readers might have noticed, too, that the drawbar sweeps downwards by about 300mm. Because the van sits quite high, this was probably a necessary design element to keep the coupling within legal height tolerances( 350-460mm from the ground to the centre of the towball) – and it does add a certain visual appeal, I must say. Because of the height, a double fold-out step is provided as well.
