RV FEATURE
In the back of the van, Jayco had fitted a pretty special bathroom. There’ s a top-loading washing machine, a white ceramic vanity basin, and the bathroom’ s pièce de résistance, a shower door that turned from clear to opaque( what you might call‘ modesty mode’) at the touch of a button! Have I mentioned every internal feature of this Jayco Silverline 21.65-3 Outback? Not by a long shot. This is an impressive vehicle. In many ways, it is the culmination of 50 years of caravan manufacturing experience. It stands at the end of a long line of evolution, a refined and elegant companion on the road.
It was built atop a 6in hot-dipped galvanised‘ Endurance’ chassis riding on Jayco’ s own JTECH 2.0 independent coil suspension, a tried and tested system that Jayco had been using for many years.
In terms of construction, the signature Silverline look was achieved via hail and dentresistant fibreglass sandwich panels that Jayco refered to as its Toughframe, while the floor was a one-piece PET structure.
It’ s truly a complete caravan, built by the country’ s biggest manufacturer, and the refinements and updates on show in the 2025 Silverline would bring a smile to anyone’ s face.
But what about the weight? Well, the Silverline in the images had a Tare of 2704kg and an unladen ball weight of 199kg. Note: Tare weight can change marginally from one van to another, and the weights of the van that ends up in the driveway of the lucky winner might vary slightly. That said, with the ATM of 3293kg, it will have a healthy payload capacity!
