THE FRONT BOOT
The platform initially used federal government toilet data, but the team quickly discovered it was often incomplete, outdated, or missing the details travellers actually cared about. Poo with a View layers community contributions over baseline data so travellers can quickly choose the best option nearby.
Users can rate toilets for View, Cleanliness, and Smell; filter by practical needs such as accessible facilities, baby change tables and showers; upload photos, leave reviews, and share tips for fellow travellers; and use the app offline once an area is loaded, ideal for regional and remote travel.
" The official data might tell you a toilet exists, but it won ' t tell you if it ' s locked, filthy, missing supplies, or worth stopping for," Duane said. " We built this to be genuinely helpful."
Poo with a View is free and available on iOS and Android. The founders are focused on growing a nationwide community of contributors to help travellers find cleaner, safer, more comfortable stops, and discover a few unforgettable pit stops with panoramas along the way.
" Our goal is simple: make Australian road trips better," Cox said. " If we can help people avoid a bad stop, find a clean one, and maybe stumble across an incredible view, we’ ve done our job.”
