That’ s only scratching the surface of this system, but the X-Rider happened to have another unique feature, something I have not seen before in a caravan. In essence: simply push the foot of the bed forward and a portion of the mattress will lift up to create a back rest. Simply pull it forward to make the mattress flat again. By the way, the bed on this van is 6ft 6in – perfect for the tall timbers amongst us.

GO THE TIGES
Now, I am painfully aware that I am one of the very few people in this country who does not follow football. I do, however, follow caravans and I had heard that Urban Caravans had created a van in the livery of the Richmond Tigers.
I didn’ t specifically seek this van out, but it was hard to miss, being positioned where it would be noticed by foot traffic and draw people in. I must admit, it’ s a nice looking rig. If ever I’ m asked, I tell people I barrack for Carlton( it’ s just easier that way), so I can’ t speak to the value of this van to the Richmond Football Club.
But stepping inside, I discovered a fresh, bright van with multiple bunks in the rear, an attractive bathroom with a separate shower, and all the good stuff that we expect in a modern van. With its high-riding stance on the road, this family van certainly makes a statement. I wonder if I could get one in the Blues colours. Mind you, the excitement of such a thing would be wasted on me …
