WOW FACTOR IN SPADES
Canterbury Caravans is one of Victoria’ s best-loved dealerships, so I couldn’ t wonder past its stand without saying hello. Frankly, it was pretty hard not to notice this stand. You see, dead centre of the display was what could only be described as half tow vehicle, half monster truck nicknamed Zeus.
I was told it was the first F550 in Australia. Obviously, it’ s been heavily customised by its owners, Karly and Jake of the social media channel Waking Up in Aus. The pair are also ambassadors for XTour Caravans, and their particular van – a 24ft 6in XTour Eclipse – is testament to what can be achieved when a manufacturer is willing to work with its very well-informed customers.

In fact, Jake and Karly mentioned that they actually lived in a different van with their children when they were designing their current rig. This allowed them to make detailed measurements for their various living spaces and to come up with unique layout ideas that they felt would suit their lifestyle best.
I’ m not sure that I’ ve seen actual steps up to twin single beds either side, but I liked it. This van – more specifically a toy hauler, given the cavernous space in the front used to cart their ATV – also comes with a drop-down bed for the parents. Overall, the van is a sight to behold, and I dare say whomever sees this sincerely large and impressive rig out in the wild will be just as impressed.
