THE HEART OF TASSIE CARAVANNING

Question: what do you do when you own Tasmania’ s‘ caravanning capital’, but you’ re located in the sleepy coastal town of Somerset? Answer: you bring your dealership to the masses.
That’ s what Coastal Caravans did during the Labour Day long weekend in early March. Tasmania’ s largest caravan dealership set-up its four brands on the lawn out the front of Big 4 Hobart Airport Tourist Park, right next to Hobart Airport, to create a large, festive display of brand new caravans for the public.
Coastal Caravans specialises in four brands: MDC and Gold Class, and Crusader and Dreamhaven. Gold Class Caravans, built by Market Direct Group, the company behind MDC, was launched last year, as was Dreamhaven. This Crusader-built brand, also launched last year, is a budget offering for customers wanting an Australian-built van for a cheaper price.
Coastal Caravans was established in 1988 by the Austin family, unveiling a significant revamp of the dealership late last year to coincide with the dealership welcoming the MDC, Gold Class and Dreamhaven brands to the fold.
