FUEL CRISIS
I guess that’ s a win for our local parks and camping places, while the traditional‘ head north’ accommodation outlets miss out.
What to do? I’ ve no idea what long-term damage this crisis will cause, or how long it will affect us. The notion of not being able to tour, camp and explore our outback was implausible and farfetched not so long ago, and not one I’ ve ever contemplated before. Not just for myself, but my kids. Imagine, in five, 10 or 20 years’ time, a generation of people from this era talking about how much they missed out on because mum and dad couldn’ t afford fuel, couldn’ t be sure if it would be available, and couldn’ t assure their family of treating their kids to a simple holiday.
Sad times indeed!
