Caravan Help flips that model entirely. Their fleet of mobile workshops travels to homes, storage facilities, or caravan parks, delivering comprehensive servicing on-site. For us, the difference was immediate – we were booked in for the same week.
SERVICE DAY: WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS
On a mild Melbourne morning, Chris Tuason, one of Caravan Help’ s principals and an experienced caravan technician arrived at our home. There was no rush, no confusion, and no guesswork. Before starting, he walked us through exactly what the service would involve. It was a level of clarity and transparency that immediately inspired confidence.
The process began with raising the caravan and conducting a full wheel and brake rotation test, including checks on vital electrical systems, brake lights, and indicators. From there, the inspection moved systematically through every critical component, including:
David with his beloved Jayco Silverline.
• Tyres were examined for wear, cracking, and structural integrity;
• Wheels were removed to access and inspect brake pads, magnets, bearings, and seals;
• Bearings were cleaned, inspected, and repacked with fresh grease;
• Suspension components and bushings were checked and lubricated;
• The chassis and undercarriage were inspected for cracks, loose wiring, and structural concerns; and
• All of this was included in the service price, with no additional costs added without prior discussion and customer approval.
It was during this process that a hidden issue came to light. One of the bearing seals had failed, something we had no way of detecting ourselves. Grease had begun to spread into the brake drum, compromising braking performance and posing a genuine safety risk. Left unresolved, it could have led to serious consequences on the road. Instead, it was identified and replace on the spot. The entire service took less than three hours.
