RV MAIL
The manager stated the trailer would have to be left outside the park on the road. She told me that she would get fined $ 18,000 if a council officer checked the site clearance and we were not compliant. At that point, I ask for the council officer’ s phone number and she declined my request, at which point I said that I would not move the trailer anymore given that we were so close, and they had accepted my booking based on the measurements that I had given when we booked.
We were there for four days and when packing up, there she was, standing on the next site watching us. I put the trailer on the road in front of the site, loaded the small car and, as I was strapping it down, she said I couldn’ t do that as the trailer must be on the motorhome. So, I moved the motorhome out, hooked up and was washing my hands when she said that we must move“ now” as we were blocking the road, which was easily wide enough to let a car / caravan pass us.
How pleased we were the next year when that manager had left and new managers were in place!

FOOLS WILL BE FOOLS
Your last issue included a letter praising a WA van park for banning e-bikes and e-scooters. The author of the letter left me wondering as he says he is a cyclist and is very much in favour of the ban on the electric machines. Does he feel that the problem only involves electric machines?
We recently spent a glorious five nights at Bargara in Qld and noticed a large number of cyclists and runners enjoying the area. They did not cause any concern for anyone, except for one middleaged cyclist( not‘ e’) who almost knocked a pair of older walkers off a small bridge as he flashed down the path.
My point is that rules targeting‘ things ' are not going to be as effective as rules targeting‘ behaviours’. A fool will always be a fool and will need rules that prohibit his / her foolish behaviour.
