The headline in a weekend Melbourne newspaper,‘ A caravan of catastrophes’, would no doubt have any potential buyer concerned if they were thinking of purchasing at this time, and it certainly doesn’ t help an industry that, like others, are finding times hard at present.

While some companies have gone into liquidation, there are those that are standing firm, defying the odds and creating ideas to improve sales. Such was the case at Royal Flair Caravans when owner Bill Deralas and his family came up with the idea of an EOFY sale – with a difference – at their Epping, Vic, factory. A display of new and previous models, an information stand from Dometic, and a free sausage sizzle and jumping pillow for the kids made the two-day event a success. On the first day, three sales were recorded.
