GAS BOTTLE HOLDERS
As you’ ve seen, while it isn’ t technically illegal to transport a gas cylinder inside an enclosed vehicle, it is overwhelmingly safer to store it outside. For that, you’ ll need a gas cylinder holder.
The Gas Bottle Holders from Top End Campgear have been tested on some of Australia ' s most corrugated roads, with rear, base and spare-tyre mounting solutions available for secure off-road gas bottle storage.
“ Our gas bottle holder range was developed with support from an Australian research and development grants. Our team invested in researching, designing and improving the range to create strong, practical external mounting solutions built for Australian camping and 4WD travel,” Top End Campgear managing director Greg Inwood said.
The Top End Camp Gear team developed a gas cylinder holder to suit our conditions with a range of mounting options available.
The 3kg, 4kg and 9kg base-mount holders are compatible with platform-type roof racks, while a special 2kg holder has been designed specifically to suit roof racks. The hardware you’ ll need for mounting is supplied.
And the big question: do these holders suit Swap’ n’ Go gas cylinders. Yes – over the years, Top End Campgear has evolved this product to ensure maximum compatibility with different sizes, you should avoid choosing unusually smaller or larger cylinders when swapping.
