RV FEATURE
I wonder how many of our readers were around when television was first introduced to Australia. I wasn’ t around then, but I was around during the days when colour TV became a reality. I remember vividly the moment my dad brought home an AWA colour TV. The screen was about 13in wide, and you had to get out of your chair to adjust the volume or change the channel, of which there was a selection of just four or five. When he turned it on, I couldn’ t believe my eyes.
I also remember the day when SBS started broadcasting, and suddenly we got an extra channel to watch. Not that I think we watched much of it, but it was still pretty exciting.
It seems funny to think about it now, especially when you consider that most of the programs we watched back then were reruns of reruns, like My Three Sons or I Dream of Jeannie. If you wanted some variety, you watched the news or flicked over to the ABC. How times have changed.
If you’ re having issues with your Android TV, try plugging in an Amazon Firestick. It works very well with few performance issues.
I think it’ s fair to say that streaming your favourite movies or TV shows from the internet is the single biggest thing to shake up the entertainment industry since the invention of television itself. There are so many streaming services now that you can literally find just about anything to watch over the internet, all in a big screen of stunning, high-definition OLED colour in any room of your house. But what about streaming into your caravan while you’ re out travelling around? It should be just as simple, but for some reason, many caravanners struggle.
I have had many frustrating moments trying to stream media while living in our caravan fulltime. After a lot of trial and error, I reckon I’ ve figured out what it takes to have a satisfying streaming experience on the road.
