FREEDOM CAMP OF THE MONTH
JOSEPHINE FALLS: NATURE ' S WATERSLIDE
From either camp, Josephine Falls is a short drive south, on the slopes of Mt Bartle Frere in Wooroonooran National Park. A 700m rainforest path takes you to viewing platforms over the falls. It is a bit rocky as you climb into the water, so wear shoes with good grip.
They timed it well, as a tour bus was leaving when they arrived. But the highlight for our daughter? The natural rock slide into the pool. Head for the slide area and get ready to feel like a kid again!
Like The Boulders, it ' s a designated swimming area and considered croc-safe. Conditions can change fast after rain, so follow the signs and swim only where it ' s safe.
MORE TO LOVE
Stay a few days and you ' ll find plenty more to fill your time:
