RV FEATURE
Maintaining harmony in close quarters requires plenty of consideration.
6. SET YOUR ‘SPACE’
My wife, by her own admission, is not good
company first thing in the morning, so in our
15ft 6in offroad Trakmaster, I’m “always in the
kitchen”. Actually, she’s always in the lounge,
as it’s the same space in our van, in between
the bed and bathroom!
So start off by giving each other personal
space. She likes to own the kitchen and its
cleanliness, so I let her; she doesn’t want to
interfere in the van’s set-up and packing, so
she leaves it to me.
7. BATHROOM RULES – OKAY?
8. PACKING UP
Like packing, set responsibilities and stick
to them. For example, if you’re the person
responsible for towing, don’t double-check
everything inside the van, like cupboard latches
and the shower door, within sight of your
partner. And if you do find something wrong
that your partner was responsible for, fix it
quietly and don’t mention it!
HAPPY TRAVELLING!
Not everyone is comfortable about sharing
bathroom space and, in a caravan, that will be
a smaller space than you will ever encounter
at home.
I take advantage of the great outdoors to
read and enjoy a second cup of coffee until I
get the signal that the bathroom is clear.
