RV FEATURE NO CONCEPT OF DATE, DAY, TIME OR LOCATION! IT’S POSSIBLE TO BE ‘BEACHED OUT’ You know the period in between Christmas and the new year where you have no idea what day it is? Yeah, living on the road does that to you, too. There has even been days I’ve woken up and it’s taken a while to remember where I am… Okay, I know I sound like a whinging idiot but, seriously, it’s possible to be all beached out. I think been spoilt with beautiful destination after beautiful destination sometimes makes you unappreciative of the next great spot… I’m sorry if you’re reading this while at work. IT CAN GET A BIT LONELY IT'S HARD BEING TOGETHER 24/7 It sounds strange as you’re surrounded by the people you love and you’re never actually alone, but life on the road can get lonely. You are constantly making new connections and it’s a sociable lifestyle as there really is loads of other travellers out there. We’ve even been lucky enough to travel with other brilliant families for periods of time. But just as you’re getting to know people, it becomes time to say goodbye and you don’t know when you’re going to see them again. You don’t have your established friends like at ‘home’ and you can’t just catch up with the girls for a chat or with the boys for a beer. Spending more time together was the main point of us doing this trip, but being together 24/7 is tough. There’s four of us living in a 15ft caravan — its inevitable we are going to get sick of each other at times. It can get crazy so you must give yourself some space. Kids are hard work (well, ours are), whether in a house or in the van, but in the van they’re no less than 2m away at all times. Four people in a 15ft van... inevitably, we sometimes get a bit sick of each other. 22 \
