$571.35 to tow 2255kg worth of caravan there and back and
$429.59 to drive unhitched, making it $141.76 more expensive
to tow your own accommodation.
Naturally, there would be all kinds of variables to consider that
we can’t account for this in example, such as weather and
traffic conditions, including stop-start traffic in built-up areas,
as well as your tow vehicle. Loading up either vehicle or van
with more gear and passengers would affect the numbers, too.
But that extra $141.76 is probably confirmation of what you
already intuit – it ‘seems’ right.
