Two hundred kilometres north of Broome , you ’ ll find the spectacular Dampier Peninsula , the gateway to the Kimberley Coast and one of the last pristine marine wilderness frontiers in the world .
We left our van in Broome and headed to Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm for a wonderful stay in one of its Safari Tents overlooking the stunning azure waters of the Indian Ocean . We filled our days with a number of fantastic tours on offer at the farm .
DISCOVERY TOUR
The one-hour Pearl Farm Discovery Tour is a great introduction to the history of the Brown family – pioneers of Australia ’ s pearling industry – and the world-leading techniques used to grow and harvest these amazing gems of the sea ! The highlight was participating in a live pearl harvest and having the opportunity to take home the genuine Cygnet Bay pearl , direct from the waters in which it was farmed !
