RV WORKSHOP
HANDY , EASY SHELVING
This is my modification to the hanging space ( which we don ’ t miss ) in our caravan . This modification is easy and light weight .
I used 10mm polycarbonate sheeting from Bunnings cut to size . Each removable shelf sits on simple shelf supports , two on each side . The shelf supports required a 5mm hole each but I drilled 4.5mm so the supports fit very tightly .
I taped the end of the drill bit , making sure the entry to the sidewall was barely penetrated , thereby ensuring no electric cables were encountered .
These shelves have been in place for four years and have never moved during our travels on all types of surfaces . The sheeting was cut with a fine-tooth hand saw .
We picked up the polycarbonate sheeting very cheaply ( 2x1x0.6m sheet – $ 2 each ) as it was exdisplay stock .
