RV TRAVEL
The Great Ocean Road is , of course , famous for the Twelve Apostles . No GOR visit would be complete without standing on the purposebuilt viewing platform and taking this attraction in . It is , however , quite a drive from Wye River . The road winds and meanders for about 113km – it ’ ll take you about two hours . But it is worth every minute spent at the wheel .
This river winds its way through the holiday park .
An excellent games room is among the facilities .
Loch Ard Gorge .
What ’ s more , while you ’ re in the area , there are other attractions to visit , including the spectacular Loch Ard Gorge . With its natural rock formations , a fascinating history that involves the brave 1878 rescue of a 19-year-old Irish girl by a young sailor , and a breathtaking bay awash in pearlescent water , Loch Ard Gorge must not be overlooked . The steps from the car park to the sand are quite steep , and people with mobility challenges may find it difficult ; however , if you can do it , you really should .
There are untold reasons to visit the Great Ocean Road . We ’ ve only touched on a few here . And in all honesty , as wonderful as Big4 Wye River Holiday Park is – and it really is beautiful – you ’ d be hard-pressed to not be pleased by the facilities , views and hospitality of almost any park along this gorgeous stretch of Australian coastline .
