Week five of our two-month tour of Tasmania and we are exploring the spectacular south-east coast with a road trip from Hobart to Coles Bay , including Triabunna , Maria Island and the incredible Freycinet National Park .
Abundant with natural beauty , wildlife , white-sand beaches , endless blue horizons , and quaint seaside villages , the south-east coast offers travellers some of Tasmania ' s most fascinating history , freshest seafood , finest local fare , and an outstanding coastal drive journey .
TRIABUNNA
Gateway to the natural wonders and World Heritage-listed convict site of Maria Island , Triabunna is a sleepy port town , nestled within beautiful Spring Bay . We camped offgrid at the Spring Bay Hotel free-camp located directly across the road from the Maria Island ferry , and enjoyed an awesome day trip discovering the history and wildlife that the island is so famous for .
FRIENDLY BEACHES
Located within the spectacular Freycinet National Park , this gorgeous white-sand beach , with its crystal clear turquoise waters , will entice you to linger longer . Managed by Tasmania ' s Parks and Wildlife service , the free campground at Isaacs Point offers a range of sites suitable for tents , campervans and caravans .
