OATLANDS
One of Tasmania ’ s oldest towns , built largely by convicts in the early 1800s , Oatlands ’ Georgian townscape showcases more than 150 beautifully preserved sandstone buildings – a complete representation of the architecture , urban design and cultural heritage of early European settlement in Australia .
We camped at the fantastic offgrid ‘ overflow paddock ’, which is suitable for self-contained RVs . It is pet-friendly , located beside one of the best children ’ s playgrounds we ’ ve seen in Tassie , and it is an easy walk into town .
