PREPPING FOR ADVENTURE
Stanthorpe is a rural town in the Southern Downs region of Queensland , only 3.5 hours from our home on the Gold Coast . We wanted to show the kids they could enjoy an adventure away from the ocean and bright lights of city living and search for the brightest stars .
The Team at Apollo RV Sales put us in touch with the legends at Kratzmann Caravans , who set us up with the latest Windsor Genesis 196MD . After a thorough briefing on the caravan from the after-sales team , we got the van home to show the kids and pack it for the trip to Stanthorpe .
The plan was to leave following my husband Jared ’ s night shift at the fire station and share the drive . That plan went out the window after he had a busy night and got home later than normal .
This meant I got to captain the adventure and tow the van to Stanthorpe while Jared got some rest . Towing the Windsor was easy and since it was lighter than the previous van we trialled , it felt great on the road thanks to the Al- Ko independent rubber suspension , particularly when climbing the mountains .
Before I knew it , everyone in the car was asleep , so I enjoyed a relaxing drive from the Gold Coast to Stanthorpe with not one “ are we there yet ”. Even better , I got to listen to my own playlist of road trip tunes .
