GRANTS FOR AUSSIE PARKS
One hundred and eleven caravan parks around the country are set to receive federal government grants of between $ 10,000 and $ 100,000 .
The Caravan Industry Association of Australia welcomed the announcement from the Albanese government .
Chief executive officer Stuart Lamont said this targeted federal infrastructure support package “ recognised the growing and critical value of caravanning to Australia ’ s tourism and visitor economy ”.
He said that although the grant process was highly competitive , parks who received them would use the funds to install new and improved accommodation options , facilities and amenities .
“ Over the next 18 months , we will see parks bringing to life exciting , innovative , and environmentallyfriendly upgrades , all to benefit and further heighten the customer experience ,” Mr Lamont said .
“ Caravanning has long been Australian domestic tourism ’ s largest visitor and economic cohort , an almost $ 27 billion economic driver in tourism and local manufacturing activity .”
