TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO Why we love Lakes Entrance , Vic !

I had the pleasure of visiting the Hilltop Caravans National Gathering in early March . It was held at Nagambie Lakes Leisure Park , a beautiful spot that I ’ d highly recommend . As I wandered around , chatting to various caravanners , it became obvious why club get-togethers such as this are so popular .

Each vanner at the Hilltop gathering had nothing but praise for their van and the company that built it . It was as though by purchasing one of these caravans , they ’ d become part of a very big extended family .

Most caravan manufacturers have a club of some sort . If you haven ’ t joined yours , it might be worth thinking about . Meeting new , like-minded people , swapping ideas , making new friends … that ’ s what it ’ s all about .

One such club is the Australian Caravan Club . Our columnist , Lionel Mussell , has long been a driving force behind the ACC and , sadly , he has decided to hang up his writing pen – this will be his final column in our humble e-magazine . I have worked with Lionel for many years , and you ’ d never meet a kinder person . In some circles , his battles with Murphy have become legend . Lionel , wherever your travels take you , we wish you all the best .
