According to Caravanning Queensland general manager Jason Plant, more than $30 million worth of product was sold at the show. “While caravan, camper trailer, motorhome and other recreational vehicle purchases were some of the best many exhibitors have ever seen at the event, accessories and equipment exhibitors also had a very successful sale,” he said. “With more than 300 recreational vehicles and thousands of accessories sold, there was a wide mix of purchasers across all age groups.” Ben Menzies, general manager of Coastline RV, which was an exhibitor, agreed this year’s show was a highlight in terms of equipment and accessory sales compared to previous years. “This year we saw a real spike in interest and purchase of safety equipment and accessories, including reversing cameras, tyre pressure monitors and GPS trackers and monitors for caravans and motorhomes,” Mr Menzies said. Ipswich Lifestyle managing director Chris Rojek said the Pre-Christmas Sale was one of the best events his company had participated in nationally, with more interest and sales in their own brand of camper trailer, Stoney Creek, than previous events. “We saw a broad range of customers interested in our product, from younger, first- time campers right through to older, third or fourth time purchasers who were looking to upgrade and wanted to continue their adventures with Stoney Creek,” he said.
