TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
Our next destination that day was Josephine Falls , found in the Wooroonooran National Park . Once parked , we enjoyed the 1.2km-return walk through the lush , world heritage-listed rainforest to the viewing decks to take in the sights of Josephine Falls . As it had been raining that day , the waterfall was at full force and a sight to see !
Our last stop for the day was The Golden Hole , also located in Wooroonooran National Park . This site is situated on the banks of the Russell River and features a wide swimming area with sandy beaches . It is a popular destination for locals and tourists . However , on our visit there – and luckily - we bumped into some locals who warned us before jumping into the water that crocodile warning signs had been posted in the area in recent years . So , with that , we did a quick turn back to our van . It pays to do your research sometimes and it was a reminder to look out for those yellow crocodile warning signs when exploring Queensland ’ s northern regions .
Our ‘ free ’ day out exposed us to many amazing local natural wonders . We ’ d recommend our day ’ s itinerary , but just remember : never smile at a crocodile .
