FREEDOM CAMP OF THE MONTH
JUNCTION REEFS RESERVE

Michelle and Heatley Gilmore of Camps Australia Wide have just checked out two free camps at Burnt Yards , near Mandurama , NSW . As well as offering the best price tag – free ! – both of these sites are pet-friendly , riverside and have toilets .
Burnt Yards has two excellent and secluded camps : Junction Reefs Reserve and Bakers Shaft Reserve .
Michelle and Heatley camped the night at the heritage-listed Junction Reefs Reserve , and had the spot all to themselves ! Junction Reefs had an excellent road at the time of their visit , as well as the ability to turn your rig around .
“ Cows were everywhere ; we had to move the van so we weren ’ t stepping in piles of manure !” Michelle said .
The main campground is close to a dam and waterfall . The mining dam is now over 125 years old ! You can just see the waterfall from the corner of the camp , past the old weir . Fishing is allowed , but check the local permit situation .
After sleeping to the sounds of the banjo frogs and the bubbling of the Belubula River , Michelle and Heatley drove to Bakers Shaft Reserve for breakfast .
