TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
Our curiosity was piqued by the eclectic artwork scattered throughout the town, leading us to The Ballan Art Space. Inside, we met one of the local artists and discovered a gift shop featuring local artisans’ work. The art space also had a sculpture garden with a constantly changing display of artworks. We were impressed by the diverse range of art forms, including photography, watercolour, oil, acrylic, and sculptures.
As we strolled back to our van, we noticed a collection of vintage cars parked in the town. A local explained that car enthusiasts love to take photos of their vintage cars in front of Ballan ' s old buildings. The town is also popular with car clubs that visit the 1950sinspired Shezza ' s Diner.
Speaking of Shezza ' s Diner, I couldn ' t resist the urge to try a milkshake. Stepping inside was like opening a time capsule, complete with records as placemats, jukeboxes, and a menu featuring burgers, fries and milkshakes. We ' ll be back to try one of the burgers next time.
In conclusion, Ballan is a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations. This small town has a lot to offer, and we felt very welcomed with our pet, Twyla. If you ' re passing through, we highly recommend stopping by to experience the town ' s unique blend of art, culture, and nostalgia.
