We were lucky that our major activities were in the morning, as the weather turned very wet and cold in the afternoon, resulting in the proposed happy hour in the marquee and the mini golf tournament in the town being cancelled.
Pre-ordering meals proved a success at our farewell dinner that evening at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club. The extensive menu catered for all dietary requirements, ensuring all enjoyed their meal before heading back to camp for the evening.
A storm demolished the marquee on the Sunday morning.
Strong winds and rain overnight collapsed the marquee and flooded caravan sites. Luckily, by morning, the sandy soil had drained most of the water. Experienced caravanners prepared for the bad weather by raising awnings and packing up before retiring for the night.
The state rally concluded with a coffee gathering in the camp kitchen on the Monday morning. Alan thanked the committee and members for their attendance and participation, provided answers to the‘ welcome pack’ quiz, invited all to next year’ s event at Myrtleford, and wished everyone safe travels home. Overall, it was another fantastic state rally enjoyed by all.
