HOW MUCH?
At the time of writing this review, the Bluetti HandsFree 1 with 42L backpack and 268.8Wh power station retailed for $ 699. If you want to include a solar panel, you can get the kit with a 60W folding panel for $ 899 or a 120W folding panel for $ 1158. The HandsFree 2 with its 60L bag and 512Wh power station is an additional $ 249.
SUMMING UP
In a world where there is little differentiation between products, Bluetti has looked at its potential customers and designed a portable lithium power system that complements their lifestyle. These days, even the humble bush walk involves taking a host of electronic equipment that, at some point, will need recharging. If your trips extend to overnight duration or you simply need to power a lot of equipment on the go, then Bluetti’ s HandsFree system is exactly what you’ re looking for.
The camera section can be customised to fit your gear.
There’ s a convenient storage section over the power station.
For me, I would be struggling to fully utilise the HandsFree 2 but I can imagine there are some power users out there who could push it to its limits. The HandsFree 1 hits a real sweet spot for anyone who works or plays in digital media.
If you combine it with a Starlink Mini system, you’ ll have the ability to capture, create and publish online content from anywhere in the world you can get to on foot. In a digital world where publishing information and entertainment needs to be instant, this capability can give you a very powerful competitive edge. Safe travels.
