BLIZZARD COMING TO OUTBACK NSW

Ice skating,‘ snow’ and a‘ blizzard’ is not what you’ d expect to find in outback New South Wales, but that’ s exactly what’ s blowing into the remote community of Brewarrina this July.
Brewarrina Shire Council has announced the return of the Brewarrina Blizzard, transforming the far west town of Brewarrina into a winter wonderland for a third consecutive year.
The 2025 Brewarrina Blizzard, with a full-sized ice rink, snow experience, food vendors and more, will take place from July 7- 13 offering locals, surrounding regions and travellers an unforgettable experience in the heart of the outback.
“ Since its inception in 2023, we have welcomed almost 30,000 skaters to the ice, offering residents and visitors alike the chance to take part in activities and experiences that have never been available in this part of the world,” Brewarrina Shire Council general manager David Kirby said.
The week-long free festival will open daily from 10am, with the lawns of the Brewarrina Visitor Information Centre transformed into a polar paradise.
