FREEDOM CAMP OF THE MONTH
Pets are welcome at both the river camp and day-use area.
You’ ll find this shady reserve just off Darbys Falls Road, next to the bridge and only 26km from Cowra, NSW. In fact, some of our fellow travellers took in the Japanese Gardens in Cowra for a picnic, or you could visit the infamous Cowra Breakout site, where the largest prisoner of war breakout in modern military history occurred.
As well as loads of war history, Cowra is also your best best for supplies. We took the scenic route via Wyangala Dam and found some lookouts to delight! As always, leave no trace.
