With its black tapware , including an optional separate filtered tap for drinking water , the kitchen has a four-burner cooktop with griller – an oven isn ’ t standard , but that ’ s preferred , in my opinion , as it allows for additional storage space underneath the griller .
Kitchen bench is in short supply , which is to be expected in a compact van such as this ; however , the cooktop is recessed below the bench , with a hinged section above that can be used . Aft of the bench , Kokoda has fitted a full fridge-freezer and a microwave above .
Nowadays , Kokoda Caravans does its own CNC machining in-house , and the results are up there with the best of them . No complaints about the fit and finish of the cabinetry , and I liked that piano hinges were used to secure all of the locker doors . There ’ s no tougher way to secure them , in my opinion .
On the nearside , opposite the kitchen , our Kokoda Cobber 2 had a cafe-style dinette upholstered in faux leather . The tri-fold table was a nice touch , as was the inclusion of nearby 12V and 240V powerpoints , not to mention the under-bench storage nook .
While the rear bathroom is necessarily small , it doesn ’ t skimp on the equipment or fitout , either . A toilet is on the offside , while a fully moulded fibreglass shower cubicle is on the nearside . Across the rear wall , you ’ ll find a vanity complete with an under-bench washing machine . Yes , Kokoda has even given this 17-footer a washing machine – not bad !
