Saturday was‘ Long Table Lunch Day’. Gilo did the‘ chicken run’ to Delacombe after he and JB lit the all-important charcoal to cook the lamb on the spit-roast.
A few visited a private garage sale before lunch. Big surprise: who was there but ex-members Julie and Tony Ryan! Of course, they joined us for lunch, staying most of the afternoon before returning to their home and new caravan in Ballarat.
At midday, out came the potatoes, peas and corn, cauliflower and broccoli cheese bake, salad, bread, sauces, and gravy. A variety of cheesecakes topped off the meal. There was plenty. A true feast. Enough left over for Sunday dinner.
Club members Nifty and Flo drove down for the day too, joining us for lunch and delivering two editions of Caravanning Australia.
Denise tried her first ever drink of scotch and liked it. No Coke, either. But one sip was enough.
Dinner was‘ do your own thing’. Another fire to sit around and socialise. More of Linda’ s hot chocolate – a Thermomix recipe – and it was an excellent brew.
