As the covid 19 crisis quickly shut travel down in Australia, many full-time caravanners were left to ask:“ What now?”
One such caravanner was GoRV’ s tech and gadget guru, Marty Ledwich. He and his wife, Kylie, has been full-time on the road for two years when covid 19 hit. Though they had planned for every contingency they thought possible, enduring a pandemic lockdown was not one of them. And they were not the only ones.
With state borders closed, many vanners found themselves in a kind of limbo: unable to travel; unable to head home. Caravanners were crudely referred to by locals as‘ the cruise ships of the outback’, suggesting they were bringing the virus into their communities. It was an ugly time.
