Of course, the dealership has a large range of secondhand vans, too, as well as a full service and repair workshop.
With the expo underway, and with other caravan-related businesses also on-site to share their services and wares with the public, Coastal Caravans was a hive of activity. General manager Danny Peterson, whose product knowledge is second to none( he worked with Crusader for many years), beamed with pride. It was only the second time that Coastal had put on such a large event for the public, but there was a festive atmosphere, caravans were being sold and there was not an unhappy face onsite.
The renovations at Coastal Caravans were done in honour of family matriarch Mazzie Austin, with this special plaque unveiled by Tasmanian premier Jeremy Rockliff.
Danny reflected on the change that he had seen within the business, especially in recent months, with the development of the new spare parts, service and repair facility, not to mention the expansion of the indoor showroom – particularly beneficial during Tasmania’ s winters. The service and repair facility, he said, was one of the largest of its kind in the state, too.
I’ ll give the final word to Jeremy Rockliff, the premier of Tasmania, who in his speech said of the Austin family and Coastal Caravans,“ I know you have an exciting future ahead because you’ re aspirational people selling great, aspirational product.”
Yes, it’ s known as Tasmania’ s caravanning capital for good reason. The expo was unquestionably successful. If you didn’ t make it, never fear: this time next year, it’ ll be on again, and I dare say it’ ll be even bigger and even more successful.
