STANDOUT MOMENT
One moment that stood out involved the bathroom mirror. We wanted a circular backlit mirror with the benchtop splashback( material: Viandre by Nikpol) carried up behind it, something Australis hadn’ t done before. Instead of steering us away from it, they sourced several mirrors, mocked each one into the space, sent photos, and we worked through the options until the proportions felt right. That kind of detail and willingness to try something new made a noticeable difference.
Inside the van, we removed ceiling lights and went for soft, indirect lighting instead. All sockets were hidden to keep the interior clean. We lengthened the benchtop, enlarged the table and extended the lounge so the space worked for editing, eating, spreading out gear or settling in on a rainy afternoon. We removed angled cupboards that wasted space. We chose a deeper sink, a tucked-away extractor, and storage designed around what we actually carry: cameras, daypacks, tools, chargers and an e-bike kit. Full-time travel exposes every weakness in a layout, so we wanted to proactively address this.
We also added a Vendline pull-out washing line. It might seem like a tiny detail, but after years of using flimsy camping lines that sag or fall over, finding something sturdy and good-looking was a relief.
