Here we go, another year stretched out before us like the open highway. Let’ s hope the year brings no swerves, crashes or near-misses. 2025 brought its share. In fact, I just sat down with Stuart Lamont, the CEO of the Caravan Association of Australia, to discuss the year that was, the year that’ s ahead and the issues surrounding some of the recent manufacturer closures, for the latest episode of our podcast, Tow & Tell.

The new year brings fresh promise and new adventures. For me, this will be the year that I finally finish my beach house. It has been an ongoing project, the very definition of DIY, but it’ s taking shape. Next, I have my sites set on building out my ultimate touring rig. Check in with me this time next year and I’ ll have some firm plans. Right now, I’ m dreaming of a trailer with a rooftop tent, loads of storage in the tub, a portable fridge and a built-in external kitchen. But that will change as I use this time to sketch out what‘ ultimate’ truly looks like for me.
