For the past four years, Adam, Twyla, and I have spent nearly every weekend chasing the horizon across Australia in our trusty converted Ford Transit van.
What started as a part-time escape from Monday to Friday routines has become a way of life that fills our YouTube channel, Kingdeano Adventures, with stories from dusty back roads, ocean sunrises, and quiet campfire nights.
Each trip reminds us how much we love the freedom of vanlife – and left us wondering what it would be like to take the leap and live on the road full-time.
That question has finally been answered. After years of wondering, we have decided to sell our house, buy a new van, and travel Australia full-time. It’ s a huge decision, one we haven’ t made lightly. Our beloved 20-yearold van has been the perfect companion for our weekend adventures, but as we look ahead to the next 20 years and into retirement, we knew it was time to invest in something ready for the long haul.
The first major step on our journey was heading to the Victorian Caravan & Camping Supershow, where we could explore the latest models and find the van that felt like home. There’ s something thrilling about stepping into a new camper for the first time and imagining what your life could look like inside it: morning coffees with mountain views, rainy days tucked away reading, and endless sunsets shared with the one you love.
