THE FRONT BOOT

VISITOR KIOSKS GET AI

Grampians Wimmera Mallee Tourism( GWMT) has switched on a major upgrade to its existing network of off-grid visitor kiosks, with new multilingual, AI‐driven translation and voice-assisted visitor servicing now live in Halls Gap and Dunkeld.
The enhanced kiosks build on the region’ s world-first solar and wind-powered units already operating across the Grampians and Wimmera Mallee.
The new AI capability provides real-time tourism advice in 12 languages, spoken and written, alongside live mapping, emergency warnings and instant referrals to local operators.
Early usage data shows the upgrade is already shifting visitor behaviour, with visitors using the kiosks to source information and book accommodation, tours and dining on the spot.
“ We’ ve taken an already successful piece of visitorservicing infrastructure and taken a major leap forward,” GWMT CEO Marc Sleeman said.“ The biggest impact so far is after hours. Visitors are engaging heavily outside normal business hours when traditional servicing drops away but demand spikes.”
