TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
There were also smaller details that made a big difference. In our old van, the front seats didn’ t swivel, which meant we couldn’ t properly use that space. This time, swivel seats were non-negotiable. A bigger fridge was another musthave after years of working with very limited storage. When it came to layout, we knew we didn’ t want a permanent bed. We had met so many people who regretted losing their living space during the day, so we chose a design with two sofas along either side that could convert into a bed at night. It gives us flexibility and suits how we actually live day to day.
Storage was something we had strong opinions on too. Drawers, without a doubt, came out on top. They make it so much easier to access everything, especially in a compact space where crouching down and digging through cupboards quickly becomes frustrating.
After exploring all our options, we decided to go with Emu RV. It felt like the perfect fit for us. We had noticed Emu RV years ago at our very first show, and it’ s funny how things come full circle. They focus on a smaller range of vans built on Fiat chassis, which allows them to really refine their designs and pay attention to detail. That approach stood out to us, and it gave us confidence in our decision.
Putting down the deposit was a surreal moment. After four years of dreaming, planning and learning, it finally felt real. We couldn’ t be happier with our choice and are so excited to pick up our new van by the end of the year. This isn’ t just about upgrading our vehicle – it’ s about stepping fully into the lifestyle we’ ve been building toward and continuing our journey across Australia with more freedom than ever before.
