Sunday was‘ Travel the District Day’. Despite the fuel situation, many toured to Bright, Milawa, Yackandandah, Beechworth, Mount Beauty, Gapstead Winery and the Red Stag & Emu Farm. All returned for our last happy hour before driving to the Happy Valley Hotel at Ovens, about 4km east of Myrtleford towards Bright for a closing farewell dinner, the announcement of next year’ s state rally destination, and an awards presentation.
Come Monday, after meeting for a cuppa and saying farewells, the vast majority departed for home to gardening duties, family responsibilities and doctor’ s appointments. A group planned a tagalong rally through Victoria’ s King Valley and High Country, going to Whitfield, Mansfield and other places, extending their caravanning holiday before going their own way home.
The weekend was a resounding success, with just the right mix of organised and free time, with promises to do it all again next year at the Big 4 Yarra Valley Park Lane Holiday Park in Healesville next year.
Due to public liability insurance concerns, only members of caravan clubs affiliated with any of the Associations of Caravan Clubs are eligible to attend a state and national rally. Check out the following links for more information.
