THE FRONT BOOT
ONE MACHINE, ZERO MESS
IS THE END OF THE TRADITIONAL DUMP POINT NIGH?
Caravanning hygiene has taken a major leap forward with the launch of CamperClean, a fully automated toilet cassette emptying and cleaning system.
The first machine is now in operation at NRMA Holiday Park in Bright, Vic.
The Germany-developed system is hands-free. It automatically empties, washes and refreshes caravan and motorhome toilet cassettes, eliminating direct contact with waste and significantly improving hygiene and convenience.
The system has been operating for more than 15 years across Europe, with over 700 installations in 16 countries. It was introduced to Australia and New Zealand by Albury-based couple Anna and Ryan Clifton under CamperClean Australia.

The process uses about 30 per cent less water than traditional manual cleaning methods and is compatible with current Thetford and Dometic cassette systems.
Early feedback from Australian caravanners has been overwhelmingly positive, with many users saying the system makes them more comfortable using onboard toilets rather than relying solely on shared amenities.
Josh East, NRMA Bright Holiday Park contract manager, said guests loved the convenience.
“ With no blockages, spills, mess or odours, it’ s perfectly suited to high-traffic areas and doesn’ t need to be hidden away like traditional dump points,” he said.
