TRAVELS WITH KINGDEANO ADVENTURES
The day had finally come. After months of waiting, we received the call from Emu RV to let us know that our brand-new van was ready to be picked up. We had ordered our Emu RV Fiat Ducato extralong-wheelbase at the Victorian Caravan & Camping Supershow, complete with the All-Terrain Pack, and now it was sitting in Penrith, NSW, waiting for us.
Because Emu RV is based in Penrith, we had a choice: have the van delivered to Melbourne or make the journey to Penrith ourselves. For us, there was really only one option. We decided to turn the pick-up into a road trip and bring our dog, Twyla, along for the adventure.
Picking it up ourselves also meant we could have a proper handover. Although we had owned a van before, there were so many new features and systems in our new campervan that we had never used. Marty, the owner of Emu RV, was more than happy to have us there for the handover, and we knew it would be worth the trip.
The night before pick-up, we were like two kids waiting for Christmas morning. We could hardly contain our excitement. After all the planning, researching and waiting, the moment we had been dreaming about was finally here.
When we arrived at Emu RV, there it was – our brand-new van, proudly waiting for us with a huge red bow on the front. It was a moment we will never forget. After a quick look around our new home on wheels, it was time to begin the handover.
