During my test drive, the SRM22 immediately showed why motorhomes are gaining traction with Aussie travellers. Driving it felt natural and un-intimidating – far easier than towing a caravan, especially for newcomers. Parking and reversing were simple, and the‘ all-in-one’ travel style offers real advantages: no hitching, no sway, no trailer to manage, and a cabin that’ s always accessible. For single travellers or couples heading out on their first big lap, that sense of safety and control is a major drawcard.
Motorhomes also open the door to cheaper, more flexible travel. With lower fuel consumption than many tow-vehicle-plus-caravan combinations, and the ability to overnight in more places without relying on caravan parks, the SRM22 promises a style of touring that’ s both economical and spontaneous.
While GoRV hopes to publish a full review of the SRM22 in an upcoming issue, this early look makes one thing clear: Snowy River is aiming to shake up the entry level motorhome segment with a product high on value, low on price, and backed by a manufacturing process more sophisticated than many expect.
