THE FRONT BOOT

A CHANGING LANDSCAPE

The number of RVs entered on the Register of Approved vehicles for July dropped 10.8 per cent compared to July 2025.
During July, 3728 RVs were entered onto the Register of Approved Vehicles.
Of these, 3362 were towable RVs( down 14 per cent). The top 10 named towable RVs were:
Regent RV: 356 Jayco: 318 Austrack Campers: 226 Ezytrail: 196 Market Direct Campers: 179 Crusader Caravans: 133 Stoney Creek Campers: 88 Leader: 75 Dreamhaven Caravans: 74
Supreme Caravans: 70
For the year to date – January to July 2026 – a total of 27,110 RVs have been listed on the RAV( 24,720 towables and 2390 motorised) with Jayco leading the pack with 3180 units sold, followed by Regent RV with 1875, Austrack with 1864 and MDC with 1625.
Interestingly, sales of motorised RVs( motorhomes) are up 36.1 per cent, with 366 units sold in July.
So what are the numbers telling us? We ' re seeing a changing mix of brands in towables, a significant presence from importfocused businesses, and strong activity within the motorised category.
Note: RAV data is not retail sales data or an indication of market share. It records vehicles entered onto the Register of Approved Vehicles and includes both locally manufactured and imported RVs. Timing of RAV submissions can also influence individual monthly figures. But as an indicator of what ' s entering the Australian RV market, both the July and year-todate figures are well worth watching.
